Shopping Keto at Costco
Plenty of Low Carb/Keto Options at Costco
There may be no better place to shop for keto food items than Costco. Your entire keto grocery list can be filled, there is an amazing variety of keto food options, and of course, you can’t beat the Costco value.
The keto diet has been on the rise lately, and Costco didn’t miss a beat in catering to the keto crowd. Costco offers a variety of keto/low-carb options that can appeal to everyone. The entire Costco keto shopping list is available for download at the end of the article.
How to Use This Costco Keto/Low Carb Foods List
The keto diet is a high-fat, low-carb, moderate protein diet. It’s a relatively simple diet that is highly effective at burning fat. The keto diet has significantly gained in popularity, and Costco carries quite a few food items to cater to keto followers.
The Shopping List Is Focused On Limiting Carbs
The big challenge of the keto diet is limiting the carbs and counting net carbs. This Costco keto guide/shopping list is meant to simplify the keto shopping experience at Costco. The guide is sorted by the different departments and areas of the Costco warehouse, starting with the produce and working our way to the nuts and snacks near the registers.
Not Every Low Carb Item At Costco Is In This List
While this Costco Low Carb Keto shopping list is meant to be comprehensive, we do not and cannot list every single low-carb item that Costco carries. This list represents many of the popular and well-known keto food items that are most likely to be available at your local Costco warehouse.
Each Costco location is different and will have different low carb keto food options.
Keto Friendly Fruits and Vegetables at Costco
Produce is hit or miss with the keto diet. Keto-friendly low-carb vegetables will be the green leafy vegetables and vegetables that grow above ground. This means you will want to buy spinach, lettuce, and cauliflower while avoiding below ground favorites such as potatoes, carrots, and parsnips.

Costco Keto Bakery Options
No Keto Items In The Bakery (As Expected)
Sorry everybody, but the Costco bakery has no keto-friendly food items. As you can imagine, everything the Costco bakery sells is high in carbs and sugars. Skip this area in its entirety.
Remember, it’s much easier to be strong and avoid purchasing carbs/sugar-filled items for 1 hour at Costco than buying the food and fighting the temptation all day at home.
Meat and Seafood
Go Crazy In Costco's Meat Section
Almost everything is on the table in the Costco meat and seafood department. You can pick up any seafood, chicken, pork or beef cut. Some of my favorite buys are chicken thighs, chicken wings, and organic ground beef.
The only thing to somewhat watch out for in Costco’s meat and seafood department is shellfish. Some shellfish will have a very small amount of net carbs, usually less than 2 grams per serving. This isn’t enough to kick you out of ketosis by any means, but it is worth nothing.

Costco Refrigeration Deli Keto Foods
Fun Keto Friendly Foods In Costco's Refrigerated Deli Area
Some people who follow the keto diet like to eat mostly whole foods, but there are still quite a few low-carb gems in Costco’s refrigeration area for keto followers.
There are usually several sausage options that provide some great flavor and can help spice up some meals. There are also many side dishes and meal replacements that are fun, tasty, and, most importantly, low in net carbs.
Always Check The Label!
Each Costco location will be slightly different in terms of product offering, so your Costco may have more or less keto friendly options than what is on this list.
Costco is also always adding new products, especially in the refrigerated aisles, so keep an eye out and remember that just because something isn’t on this list doesn’t mean it isn’t keto-friendly. Always check the nutritional label!

Costco prepared meals really surprised me with how many keto options there were. I’ve eaten most of the meals already, and I figured there were maybe one or two suitable options, but there were actually about a dozen meals that were keto-friendly and low in carbs.
Of course, the famous Costco rotisserie chicken is keto-friendly, but if you want to mix it up, there are a few other delicious and convenient items as well.

The beverage selection will vary slightly at each Costco location, so always check the label to confirm that the drinks have little to no net carbs.

Costco carries an extensive array of dairy and egg products; thankfully, most are very low carb. Costco has many of the staples that you would find at regular grocery stores at just a fraction of the cost. Most of the dairy at Costco will be fair game and a great addition to any keto or low carb diet.

Costco Keto Frozen Foods
Have Fun With Keto In Costco's Frozen Food Aisles
Everyone’s favorite aisles at Costco, unfortunately, aren’t the most keto-friendly area. Of course, there will be some awesome finds, but a great majority of the frozen food section will have at least a moderate amount of carbs. The best options are the raw fish, chicken, and bacon.
Most processed foods in Costco’s frozen food aisle will have a noteworthy amount of net carbs, so I like to stick to the frozen hamburgers, salmon burgers, and turkey burgers. The vegetable area also has some great gems like the broccoli florets and the riced cauliflower.
And for those with a sweet tooth, don’t forget to pick up a box of keto-friendly ice cream.

Again another huge area of the warehouse that isn’t super keto friendly. There are more than enough keto-friendly/low-carb options in the non-perishables/pantry and dry goods area of Costco, but you will have to be selective.
The canned fish/meat items are a great low carb purchase, and there are some fantastic unique items like the minced garlic, artichoke hearts, almond flour, cocoa powder, and erythritol and monk fruit sweetener. Be selective and always read the label in this area of the warehouse, and you are surely going to find a few items that are tasty, delicious, and low carb.

All of these oils will be low-carb and perfect for anybody on the keto diet.

Costco Low Carb Condiments and Sauces
Plenty Of Low Carb Sauces To Keep Keto Fun!
Just because you are avoiding carbs doesn’t mean the keto diet has to be bland or boring. There are quite a few different sauces that fit into the ketogenic diet, and not only does Costco carry a variety of options, but they are also a total bargain compared to grocery store prices.
My favorite keto condiment that Costco carries is the Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayo. Not only is the avocado oil mayo made from great healthy fats, but it can also be used as a base for a multitude of sauce flavors such as chipotle mayo, sriracha mayo, and even a ranch mayo. It’s a great low carb, high fat versatile buy at a great value.

If you don’t crave sweets like me, then Costco’s keto snacks will have you covered. They have a plethora of low carb options such as nuts, pork rinds, and beef sticks.
Costco also has an ever-changing inventory of keto friendly snacks. If you see something new that may be low carb, make sure to read the nutritional label and confirm it.
