Costco Bakery Calories - Muffins, Danishes, Bagels and More!

Costco Bakery Calories and Nutritional Information
Who doesn’t love Costco’s bakery? Giant muffins, delicious cakes, flakey butter croissants. There are a lot of great value and unique items in Costco’s bakery, but one thing that can be hard to find is the bakery’s nutritional information, including the calorie count of many of the delicious baked goods.
I often get asked questions such as “How many calories are in Costco’s muffins?” or “Are the croissants healthy?”. This article will answer those questions and give you a good idea of how healthy and unhealthy certain bakery items are. Spoilers: Most items are not healthy.

Missing Bakery Items?
Costco’s bakery has so many items that I’m not able to add every single one to this list. If you want the calorie information for a specific Kirkland Signature bakery item, please let me know in the comments. I will add it to the list and email you the info.
10" Chocolate Round Cake

The 10” chocolate round cake can be found in the refrigerated premade cake area and are also available and made to order for parties. The chocolate sheet cake will have a similar nutritional profile.
This chocolate cake from Costco is usually eaten at birthday parties where calories, carbs, and fats, are entirely ignored. The chocolate cake doesn’t have the best nutritional profile, but that is to be expected for a birthday cake.
10" Vanilla Round Cake
The 10” vanilla round cakes are the vanilla version of Costco’s basic cake. This cake is often topped with strawberries and will have 370 calories per 1/16th slice.
Yes, Costco’s vanilla cake is slightly healthier than Costco’s chocolate cake, which is a little surprising. The fat and carbs are still high, but typical for a birthday cake.
Those knowledgeable about the number of calories in each macronutrient will see the numbers don’t really add up compared to Costco’s chocolate cake. I really can’t explain that because these numbers come directly from Costco.
Chocolate Tuxedo Cake

My favorite cake at Costco, but it does come with a calorie-heavy nutritional label. The presentation is top-notch, and the flavor is spot on.
One 370-calorie slice of this chocolate mousse cake is more than enough to satisfy.
Full Review
The calories for Costco’s tuxedo cake are standard. The fat is a little higher and the carbs lower, which I prefer. I much rather would have more fat than carbs in my diet.
Caramel Tres Leches Cake

Some Costco members consider the caramel tres leches cake to die for. It’s moist, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee. At only 190 calories per slice, this cake is worth bringing home.
Now, there isn’t really such a thing as a healthy cake, at least not at Costco, but Costco’s Caramel Tres Leches cake is the healthiest of the bunch.
The serving size is smaller, but the calories are respectable and the fat and carbohydrates are kept in check.
Tiramisu Cake

The $16 tiramisu cake is perfect for hosting guests. The classic tiramisu cake with ladyfingers and mascarpone looks beautiful and tastes even better.
At only 210 calories, the tiramisu cake is a light dessert that is packed with flavor.
Costco’s tiramisu cake is right there in terms of healthiness and nutritional value with Costco’s Tres Leches Caramel Cake. At only 210 calories per serving, this treat can be eaten with minimal guilt.
Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Who doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies? Costco’s chocolate chunk cookies are full of large blocks of chocolate surrounded by a soft, chewy cookie texture. They are delicious and very easy to eat.
Cookies are cookies, and Costco’s cookies are no different. Each cookie has 200 calories, with 10 grams of fat and 26 grams of carbs. They are not the healthiest for you, but at least they taste amazing.
Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hoping to cut the calories down with the mini chocolate chip cookies? Yes, you can if you eat just one, but 3 mini chocolate chip cookies are about the equivalent of one chocolate chunk cookie.
Costco’s mini chocolate chip cookies are the better option if you can manage portion control. Each mini cookie has about 60 calories, 3 grams of fat, and 8 grams of carbs.
The issue with the mini chocolate chip cookies is that they are very easy to overeat and indulge on.
Blueberry Lemon Loaf Calories

Costco’s blueberry lemon loaf sounds pretty healthy and is a solid breakfast treat, but the calories are still something to watch out for. You may be tempted to eat a slice or two for breakfast until the loaf is gone, but Costco’s blueberry lemon loaf freezes well so try to not eat it too quickly.
The innocuously named Blueberry Lemon Loaf actually packs in quite the calories. The entire loaf has 3400 calories with each 1/10th of a loaf serving containing 340 calories and over 42 grams of carbs. Be careful with this one!
Mini Carrot Cakes with Cream Cheese Icing
Sorry Costco, throwing “Carrot” and “Mini” into the name of the mini carrot cakes with cream cheese icing is a nice try, but it doesn’t actually keep the calories down. Costco’s mini carrot cakes aka cupcakes, are delicious, but not exactly healthy or nutritional.
This is information for Costco’s mini carrot cupcakes with cream cheese icing. Please note that one serving is only half a mini cake, and a full mini carrot cake will have 760 calories.
Plain Cheesecake

Costco’s cheesecake is amazing! It is super addicting and delicious and is a fantastic value at only $16.99. With 16 pre-cut slices there is plenty to go around and plenty of calories per slice (420).
Reading this article on Costco’s bakery nutrition may not be the most uplifting thing you will read today, but I will at least say that Costco’s cheesecake calories and nutritional information is not the worst in the world, considering that its a cheesecake. The calories are standard for a cheesecake, and we all know we aren’t eating Costco’s cheesecake for health reasons.
Apple Pie
Costco’s apple pie ($14.99) is excellent served hot or cold and, in my opinion, is the best pie in the warehouse. (Sorry, Pumpkin Pie)
The pie is delicious and doesn’t break the caloric bank at 350 calories per serving.
Costco’s apple pie has 350 calories per serving coming from 57 grams of carbs, and 21 grams of sugar. The fat content is kept to a minimum as it should be with apples, but the real troublemaker here is the 57 grams of carbs per slice.
Costco Peanut Butter Chocolate Cream Pie
The new Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie from Costco is absolutely delicious but also absolutely packed with calories. It’s obvious this isn’t a healthy treat, but Costco’s peanut butter chocolate pie is something that should be eaten in moderation.
Here is the full nutritional label for the new fan favorite pie.
Each slice of Costco’s peanut butter chocolate cream pie has 540 calories coming from 41 grams of fat, 42 grams of carbohydrates, and 5 grams of protein.
If you look at the name peanut butter chocolate cream pie, is there any surprise that the calories will be way up there and nearly equivalent to a full dinner meal?
Water Boiled Bagels Nutritional Information

Costco’s water boiled bagels are sold in a mix and match 6-packs. A dozen Costco bagels sells for $8.99 and are the perfect breakfast option.
Great with cream cheese and super tasty with some smoked salmon.

Costco Cinnamon Raisin Bagel Calories
Costco’s bagels will range in calories and nutritional information. Most of the calories for the bagels will fall right at 300 calories, which is respectable for what I consider the healthiest of Costco’s bakery breakfast items.
Costco’s bagels are low fat but high in carbs. The bagels are great for a quick and easy breakfast option, but you may want to cut carbs elsewhere during the day if you are eating these.
Costco Danishes Calories

Costco offers multiple flavors of danish, and they are sold as part of a mix and match. The danish filling options are great, and the pastry is a perfect flaky golden brown.
Each danish will have about 500 calories depending on the flavor.

Cream Cheese Filled Danish
Apple Filled Danish
Cherry Filled Danish
Just looking at Costco’s danishes, and there should be no surprise there are between 450 and 520 calories per danish. Each of Costco’s danishes are covered in sugar or frosting and as a result, the fat and carbohydrate count is going to be very high (50g carbohydrate minimum for each danish).
Butter Croissants Calories
I love Costco’s butter croissants. They are light, buttery, flakey and oh so versatile. The croissants are awesome to eat for breakfast and great for making croissant sandwiches.
Toast one up in the air fryer for that fresh baked feel.
Consider the rest of the Costco bakery items that we have examined in this article; the croissant might be the most innocent of them all.
Costco’s croissant has 300 calories that come from a nice mix of fat (17 grams), carbohydrates (30 grams), and protein (6 grams).
Costco Muffin Calories
By far the most popular of Costco’s bakery items. The muffins are huge, flavorful, and a fan favorite. Costco doesn’t make their nutritional information easily accessible, and it might just be because these muffins are way up there in calories.
One Serving Is Half a Muffin
Even in the nutritional information that Costco does provide, a serving of their muffins is just half a muffin. Let’s be honest; are we really stopping at just half a muffin?
I’ve included the nutritional label for their recommended half serving of a muffin as well as the label and calorie information for the whole Costco muffin.

We all love Costco’s muffins, and thats probably because they are very similar to Costco’s cupcakes.
One serving of a Costco muffin is actually only half a muffin and each full Costco muffin has 650 and 700 calories. Each muffin also hovers around 70 grams of carbohydrates and 35 grams of sugar. The muffins are delicious, but keep these to a once-in-a-while treat. There are healthier Costco bakery items out there.
