Kirkland Signature Cinnamon Rolls (Pull-A-ParT) at Costco

My favorite seasonal Costco bakery item, the Cinnamon Roll Pull A Part is back! This 1.75lb (28 ounce) giant cinnamon roll sells for $6.99 in Costco’s bakery and can be found near other items such as the Apple pie, custom cakes, and cheesecake.

One tray of cinnamon pull-a-part rolls contains 12 individual cinnamon roll pieces. The perfect amount for a late-night dessert binge. Just Kidding!

Costco Cost Comparison

How Much Are Costco's Cinnamon Rolls?

Costco’s bakery sells the cinnamon rolls for $6.99, which breaks down to $0.58 per piece. This is a fantastic price for a cinnamon roll, and I don’t believe you’ll find better value anywhere else.

Costco Vs. The Competition

Not really a fair comparison in price, but just to give you an idea, Cinnabon’s rolls cost about $5.

The Cinnabon rolls are quite larger and not really a fair comparison in terms of quality, but I want to illustrate that Costco’s cinnamon rolls can be had for a fraction of the cost.

Cinnamon Pull-A-Part Taste Test

The heating instructions, which I have included below, call for the entire pack of 12 cinnamon rolls to be heated at once. I opted to heat just a few and freeze the rest (directions are also included below).

I went with the microwave method and the cinnamon rolls were perfectly soft and squishy. The cinnamon brioche roll isn’t overly sweet but is closer to bread than a traditional cinnamon roll. Consider it very similar to monkey bread, which may be why Costco calls these cinnamon pull-a-part rather than cinnamon rolls.

Still very tasty, but it is slightly different, and expectations should be set.

The frosting has just enough flavor; there is an excellent combination of sweetness and tanginess.

Typically the best cinnamon roll frosting will be made with buttercream, but the Costco version appears to use cream cheese.

Overall, my kids and I enjoyed the cinnamon rolls. We froze some for self-control purposes, but we might still finish the entire tray within a week and gladly buy another pack in the future.

How to Heat Costco Cinnamon Rolls

Costco lists one heating option for their cinnamon rolls and that is to bake the entire tray of cinnamon rolls in the oven. It does take 20 minutes, but it is an excellent option for heating the whole set of cinnamon rolls.

If you don’t want to heat all 12 cinnamon rolls, you can pull them apart and heat them individually. I will include Costco’s recommended heating directions as well as instructions to heat the cinnamon rolls individually.

Costco’s Oven Method - Whole Tray (Costco Recommended Method)

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F
  2. Cover foil pan with foil
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes until warm.

Oven Method Individual Cinnamon Roll

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place individual cinnamon rolls on a baking tray.
  3. Heat for 5-7 minutes until sufficiently warmed.

Air Fryer Instructions - Individual Cinnamon Roll

  1. Preheat Air Fryer to 370°
  2. Place one or two cinnamon pull-a-parts in the air fryer.
  3. Heat for about 3 minutes.

Microwave Instructions - Individual Cinnamon Roll (Fastest)

I like heating the cinnamon rolls in the oven as it’s the fastest method by far, and the cinnamon rolls are perfectly warm without fully melting the frosting.

  1. Microwave one individual cinnamon pull-a-part for 20 seconds.

How to Freeze Costco Cinnamon Rolls?

Like most of Costco bakery items, the cinnamon rolls can be frozen individually for consumption later. They are pretty straightforward to freeze, and they do last for quite a while in the freezer.

I like to “pull apart” the cinnamon rolls before I wrap them so I can take out a single serving whenever I please. I simply wrap each piece individually in plastic wrap and then place them all into a Ziploc bag.

When you are ready to eat one, they can be defrosted in the refrigerator overnight. Then follow whichever heating instructions you like to reheat the cinnamon rolls.

Obviously, this is more of a dessert item (No judgments for those who eat these for breakfast), so this isn’t going to be the healthiest option available.

But considering this is a cinnamon roll, I was pleasantly surprised to see only 35 grams of carbs and 16 grams of sugar. Not the worst in the world!

Final Thoughts

At $6.99, you can’t go wrong with the cinnamon rolls. They are soft, squishy, and, most importantly, they are delicious.

They make for a great treat or dessert, and the price is unbeatable. Definitely one of the most cherished items at Costco’s bakery.

I've been buying these for the past couple months, but went to get some tonight and they had raised the price from $6.99 to $12.99.

  1. I always felt the El Camino Brand Mini Cinnamon Rolls were great and I’m disappointed they are no longer available at Costco. They were just the right size for many different occasions.
