What’s included in the Jimmy Dean Delight Breakfast Sandwich?
Each Jimmy Dean English Muffin Sandwich will be made with turkey sausage, cage-free egg whites and cheese, all surrounded by a whole-grain English muffin bun.
This is a healthy version of a Mcdonald’s sausage McMuffin with egg as it uses turkey sausage instead of pork sausage and egg whites instead of whole eggs.
The low calories (260 per sandwich) and the noteworthy 16 grams of protein are a big selling point.
Costco Cost Comparison
How Much Do The Breakfast Sandwiches Cost at Costco?
Costco sells the 12-count pack of Jimmy Dean English Muffin Sandwiches for $15.49, but I was able to pick up a box on sale at $10.99, which is a huge discount of $4.50 or nearly 30%.
On sale, the price of each individual sandwich drops from $1.29 to $0.92.
Costco Vs. The Sausage McMuffin with Egg
This is essentially a copycat version of Mcdonald’s famous Sausage McMuffin with Egg, so it seems appropriate to compare them in price. Mcdonald’s sandwiches can be had as part of their 2 for $4 deal, which is an easy breakdown of $2 per sandwich.
When the Jimmy Dean Sandwiches are on sale, they cost $1.84 for 2 sandwiches, and at retail, they go for $2.60 for 2 sandwiches.
Costco Vs. The Competition
Walmart sells a 4-count box of these same english muffin with turkey sausage sandwiches for $7.58 or $1.89 each.
Target sells the 4-count box for $7.99 or $2 each.
These options are double Costco’s sale price for the English muffin sandwiches, and, amazingly, Costco can sell a 12-count box for just $3 more than Target’s 4-count box. Costco usually has the best price, but this is some amazing Costco value.
Jimmy Dean Delights Taste Test
The Jimmy Dean English Muffin Sandwich was very convenient and wasn’t bad for a frozen breakfast sandwich. The sandwich, as a whole, was filling and had some very nice flavors.
The english muffin bun was solid but the weakest point of the sandwich. The muffin was slightly dry and chewy but was not inedible by any means. It doesn’t compare to a Sausage McMuffin bun, but it got the job done.
The turkey sausage, egg whites, and cheese were delicious, especially considering this is a “healthy” breakfast sandwich.
There was a lot of sausage flavor in the turkey sausage patty, and it was enjoyable.
The egg whites were bland and had absolutely no flavor, but they didn’t drag the sandwich down. The cheese and turkey sausage were enough to tolerate the plain egg whites.
How to Cook Costco English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich
Jimmy Dean provides only one cooking option for these english muffin breakfast sandwiches, and that is to microwave them.
They can be microwaved from frozen or thawed overnight in the refrigerator and then microwaved.
From Frozen
Prepare: Remove the wrapper. Wrap in a paper towel.
Defrost: Defrost (30% Power) 90 Seconds. Turn the croissant sandwich over.
Heat: Microwave on High for 65 Seconds or until hot. Let stand for 2 minutes.
For my microwave, 65 seconds wasn’t enough to heat the sandwich appropriately, and I needed about another 20 seconds.
From Refrigerated
Prepare: Remove the wrapper. Wrap in a paper towel.
Heat: Microwave on High 65 or until hot. Let stand for 2 minutes. Enjoy!
