Costco Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings - How to Cook!
Kirkland Signature Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings at Costco
I was strolling through Costco the other day, and I noticed that Costco has brought back its premade garlic pepper chicken wings (Uncooked).
I’m not sure if they brought it back just for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend or if it’s something they will be carrying regularly, but as a chicken wing fanatic, I had to try it.
I found the chicken wings in the premade meals section of the warehouse near other items like the Garlic Pepper Drumsticks, Chicken Street Tacos, and the Rotisserie Chicken.

Costco Cost Comparison
Costco sells the wings for $3.49 a pound, and most of the packages they had out that day were in the 5-pound range, costing about $17.50 for the tray.
This is a reasonable price for any sort of prepared chicken wings and is on par with what other grocery stores sell their fresh chicken wings for.
Costco air-chilled fresh chicken wings sell now for $2.49 a pound, which means Costco has a $1 per pound markup for the seasoning or about $5 per tray of chicken wings.
I think it’s a little pricey for what it is, as it doesn’t take long to season some chicken wings, but convenience always has a price.
Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings Taste Test
I air-fried thechicken wings, and I couldn’t be happier with how they came out. The chicken wing skin was crispy, and the meat was moist and tender. No complaints about the quality or freshness of the chicken wings.
These are advertised as Garlic Pepper chicken wings, and there definitely is a lot of orange seasoning/marinade on the wings when you buy them, but unfortunately, the flavor fell a little flat.
I’m a big chicken wing fan, but the garlic pepper flavor didn’t really shine through. I thought the wings were fine enough without any additional sauce or dip, but the taste was bland.
I’m not the best cook by any means, but I think I would have been better off buying the regular fresh chicken wings from Costco and flavoring them myself.
It’s convenient to have the wings pre-flavored, but overall these were average at best.
How to Cook Costco Chicken Wings
Costco lists two different ways to cook these premade garlic pepper chicken wings, and that is to bake them or cook them on the grill.
I air fried my chicken wings, so I will be including those directions as well.
Oven Baked Chicken Wings:
- Preheat the oven to 450°F
- Apply a nonstick spray to a sheet pan
- Place the chicken wings on the pan (Make sure the pan is large enough to hold them)
- Bake for 20 minutes, turn the wings over, and bake for 15 minutes.
- Cook until chicken wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F, measured by a thermometer.
Grilling Instructions
- Preheat Grill on Med-High Heat for 15 min.
- Reduce to medium heat and place wings on the grill
- (Note: Flats will cook faster than drumettes)
- Turn often and cook for approximately 20-30 minutes.
- Cook until chicken wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F, measured by a thermometer.
Air Fryer Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer to 360°F
- Place seasoned chicken wings in a single layer
- Cook for 24 minutes
- Flip all chicken wings halfway through cooking time.
- Cook for the remaining 12 minutes or until the chicken wing’s internal temperature reaches 165°F, measured by a thermometer.
My favorite cooking method is the air fryer method for the wings. It makes the wings easy enough to cook without much supervision, and they come out with a nice dark brown crispy exterior.
Costco Chicken Wings Nutrition and Calories
One serving of garlic pepper chicken wings is 4.3 ounces and contains 260 calories. Those 260 calories come from 15 grams of fat, 11 grams of carbohydrates and 19 grams of protein. The full nutritional label is as follows:
The nutritional profile is a little disappointing as the Costco chicken wings are full of carbohydrates and sugar. The marinade seasoning on the wings doesn’t bring that much flavor and isn’t worth the 11 grams of carbohydrates or 7 grams of added sugars.
This was especially surprising to me because the garlic seasoning is the same as the garlic chicken drumsticks, which only have 3 grams of carbohydrates per 18-ounce serving size. If nutrition is of any concern, the much better option is to buy your own fresh chicken wings and season them to your liking.
